How to install

1. Open Plumon.dmg from your Downloads folder.
2. Drag Plumón into the Applications folder in the window that appears.
3. Open Plumón from Applications. That's it: the Plumón marker icon appears in your menu bar.

System requirements

Mac model: Apple Silicon (M1 or later)
macOS version: 14 Sonoma or newer
Architecture: Apple Silicon only, Intel Macs aren't supported
Signing: Signed with a Developer ID and notarized (Apple scans every build for malicious content before it can run)
Account required: None
Command-line tool: The plumon command ships inside the app. Install it onto your PATH with one click in Settings → Command Line, then open Help → CLI & AI Guide for the "Set up Plumón for your AI" walkthrough.

Plumón doesn't run a background updater, and it never checks the internet behind your back. This page is how you'll know about updates: the version number above changes whenever a new version ships, so compare it against Plumón → About Plumón on your Mac. Or skip the manual check:

What your Mac will ask you

Do I need to allow anything the first time I open it?

Because Plumón is signed and notarized, macOS should open it normally like any other downloaded app. If your Mac shows a warning anyway, right-click the app and choose Open once; that only needs to happen the first time.

Does it ask for Screen Recording permission?

Yes. macOS asks for Screen Recording access for any app that captures your screen, including Plumón. That permission is just how screenshot apps work on a Mac. Nothing is being recorded, and nothing leaves your machine. You'll be prompted once and can turn it off anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.
